Jaksa. The Devil Follows Me

The Kingdom of Lendia fell to its knees before the savage horde of nomads—the Hunghurs. Traitors become the winners, while the remains of great warriors rot in the fields. But for the Hunghurs, the attack wasn’t without losses. One of the knights manages to kill the great kagan by trickery—and now the knight’s son, Yaksа, is doomed to endless flight, a cursed life, surviving the invaders’ revenge. Fate takes him into the Great Steppe, where he encounters the last defenders of Lendia, monstrous creatures, and living trees that resurrect and enslave the dead—along with a strange monastic order.
