We met the charming—though somewhat scatterbrained—St. Petersburg woman who forever gets involved in incredible stories in “The Diary of a New Russian,” the first part of this ironic romantic comedy, written under the light hand of Elena Kolina. As she jokingly calls herself, “the New Russian” teaches psychology students, fusses with her crazy family, and, of course, searches for love. And she finds it! Even if the love she found doesn’t let her sleep, forever setting an alarm for 6 a.m.—so you really want to hit it with that very alarm. Everyone’s got their own idea of family happiness; who knows what there is to say, even if Tolstoy said something. For this year, our heroine has, as always, a very clear plan: 1) completely eliminate sweets; sweets only with tea; 2) become truly an adult, a conscious person. Let’s see how it goes! But it definitely won’t be boring.
