Ancient Rus… Christianity has only just begun to take root in the lands of Kyiv. Against the backdrop of the struggle and intrigue between the Catholic and Orthodox branches of Christianity—over establishing influence in the Principality of Kyiv—the events of this book unfold. But other forces also вмешиваются in this struggle—ancient and sorcerous ones, for many centuries sustaining spirituality and faith in Rus… Sinful love between the shape-shifter Veznich and the daughter-in-law of Princess Olga, Marfa… No less sinful, and dangerous for the Kyiv principality, is the love of Prince Svyatoslav and Malusha, the daughter of the man who killed his father… All of this is tangled into such a knot of passions that it seems there is no way out of this heap of events and intrigues. And one has to choose… Between love and duty. Between faith and loyalty. Between… But often such a choice is so terrifying that—what if?!—it would have been better not to have it at all…
