The Choice

What happens if the consciousness of one of our modern-day contemporaries ends up in the body of a person living almost at the very bottom of the social ladder in a medieval world—dark, dirty, and cruel? The answer would seem obvious: death or madness.

But not in this case. For at the beginning, even the character is the one that’s needed, and the character is crushed—literally—by an enormous “royal piece.”
