A detachment of modern-day “polite men” is unexpectedly transported to Europe of the 18th century. The Russian delegation sets out on an extremely dangerous journey, where they will face not only warm encounters but also intrigues from hostile people. This group, which carried out a military mission in the North Caucasus, for some unexplained reason finds itself in North America in the middle of the 18th century. After they routed General Braddock’s expedition and restored the forts and strongholds previously lost to the French, they decided to seek support from the authorities of Russia. However, Chancellor Bestuzhev, who manages the foreign policy of the empire, often pursues his own interests, which don’t always coincide with Russia’s. Moreover, the successes of the French and the Russian Americans have alarmed both the British and the French from the “Secret of the King.” The Russian delegation, traveling toward Europe, encounters warm welcomes and hostile intrigues along the way. Their journey becomes extremely perilous. Yet the Russians and their allies from other countries will overcome these difficulties and safely make it back to Russia.
