What can a witcher dream of when his life is most like a kaleidoscope—where the picture changes constantly, each time forming an ever more complicated pattern? Of course, rest somewhere quiet, where no one bothers him for even a couple of days. Alas, for Aleksandr Smolin, that’s not something he can count on—too many fates of all kinds of people and non-humans have intertwined into a single thread with his own.
