Reunion

Seven years before World War II, fate brings together at a Stuttgart gymnasium the son of a Jewish doctor, Hans Schwarz, and a young aristocrat, Konradin von Hohenfels. The schoolboys see each other as like-minded people. But the Nazi regime in power splits the world into two camps.

Against the backdrop of tragic events, the heroes are forced to forget friendship. An extra person on German soil, Hans flees Germany.

Thirty years later, a Harvard graduate and respected lawyer, he will remember the country he was forced to leave—and the pain he had to endure in order to believe again in the beauty and justice of the world, in reason and the strength of spirit.
