After learning who her father really was, Vika faces a difficult choice. What to take on first: saving her parents or searching for the Heart of Eighthworld’s pieces? Both tasks lead to the capital, Deliris, and the decision seems like it could be postponed—but it still has to be made, and the further it goes, the harder the Resistance presses.
And Deliris is dazzling! Shop windows and panes gleam with wealth and good fortune. Inside, everything is like something pulled from the glossy pages of a magazine. It seems like everyone here should be happy. The brilliance makes your head spin: you walk down the street and lose track of time—around you are stars, sparks, sparks, stars… But somehow Vanilla’s glow fades. And more and more often she encounters people who are willing to do anything, just to erase the brightest houses in the city from the map. Especially since the right weapons are already in their hands.
To reach the palace with golden spires—whose underground dungeons may hold one of Vika’s parents, or even both—she, together with her friends, decides on a risky adventure and uses every possible method to win the contest. After all, the winner will be invited to a ceremonial dinner in the palace, and then doors that had previously been sealed shut will finally open before them.
