“Ascension” (English: Ascension) is a science-fiction novel by the Canadian writer Drew Karpyshyn, the second book in the Mass Effect universe. The story takes place two months after the events of Mass Effect.
In the book, we learn about the activities of the organization “Cerberus,” which inserted its agents into the Ascension program—an Alliance Systems program created to unlock the biotic abilities of people. “Cerberus” is opposed by Cale Sanders and Hendele Mitra—her colleague on the Ascension project.
