On the pages of this book you’ll meet Uncle Rat—a water rat—Mr. Mole, and Badger, as well as the restless lover of adventures, a little frog named Toud, who will one day set off on a far journey…
For a long time in Russia, this story was unknown to the general public, and only 80 years after the first edition—in 1988— it was translated by Irina Tokmakova and published in Russian. In 1992, the publishing house “Vek” in St. Petersburg released another translation—by V. Reznik, with his own illustrations. In 2011, a new Russian translation appeared, made by Viktor Lunin. There is also a translation by L. Yakhinina.
