Viktor Volkov—neither bad nor good, an ordinary guy in general—has a peculiar character. He lives by a simple rule: if you’ve been hit on the left cheek… then turn around and knock out the offender’s teeth. There are plenty of people like that around us—only not everyone is lucky (or not lucky), depending on whom it falls to: to fall out of familiar reality and land in the late Middle Ages.
