The Emperor… not quite. The King… again, not quite. Great… *ahem*… a micro-ruler—so I continued smoothly. In my first month of KEW, it was my little sandbox. I tried; others were just relaxing. Even top cyber esports clubs were confused by the stupid rules of this new game universe. No matter how bad I was, without competition, leveling up was simply easy. But once villages started being handed out, everything changed. Players saw at least some sort of gradation and scarcity—and if something is scarce, it’s expensive. Everyone started smelling money. Now I’m facing not a headless, scattered mass, but highly organized groups of people with clear goals. Will I handle it? I need to become stronger and more influential, but I can’t be overly warlike either. Today’s cyber clubs are my rivals for local dominance—and tomorrow they’ll be my allies in an interworld war I can’t tell them about.
