In a park on the outskirts of Rome, a child disappears. Not far from where the boy was last seen, the body of his mother is found. The investigators suspect the head of the family. Arriving at the scene, Colomba Caselli flatly disagrees with the official version. However, she has to investigate privately, because after the tragic events connected with the death of people in a Paris restaurant, she is ready to submit her resignation. Still, the head of the department introduces Colomba to Dante Torre, an expert in missing persons and child abuse.
They say he is a genius, although his deductive abilities are complicated by numerous phobias and paranoia—because as a child, Dante was also kidnapped. The search ended quickly, and the police concluded that the boy had died. In reality, he spent many years in captivity, in a silo tower. And the only person he saw during those long years was a mysterious man who hid his face. Dante called him “Father.” And in the new case of the missing child, the “Father” signature is clearly visible.
