The Tyranny of the Butterfly

California, Sierra Nevada. Luther Opoku, the sheriff of a sleepy mountain town in California, fights petty crime and a constant shortage of staff. But one morning, a phone call changes everything. Under mysterious circumstances, a woman has died. An accident? Murder?

The investigation leads Luther to an underground research center run by a powerful corporation from Silicon Valley. From there, Luther emerges not into his own world, but into a very similar, yet different one. There, his deceased wife is alive; his colleagues are waiting for him after vacation; and most importantly, there—he must not meet himself.

Before long, it will become clear that the heroes manage to take a look into the future of this world, where the tyranny of machines has given way to the tyranny of a new nature…
