The Governor's Son

Could I have imagined how dramatically my life would turn? Yesterday—an orphanage girl. And today—a student at a prestigious university where the son of the governor studies. Emotionless, arrogant, and cynical—though… handsome. And he smells unfamiliar. Expensive perfume, money, and superiority over everyone else.

"Am I going?" I ask timidly.

"Do you want money?" he suddenly asks—and without waiting for my answer, pulls a wallet out of the inner pocket of his leather jacket. Opens it and takes out two bills worth five thousand. I look at them, and in my mind’s eye flash new shoes, a warm jacket… normal food.

Germann, apparently noticing my reaction, gives a cold, faint smile.

"Take it."

I meet his gray gaze and involuntarily shiver. He is deliberately humiliating me.

"No."

"Not enough?"
