“Listen, Tim,” Marat reaches for me with his hand. “I’m tired of running bets for money—especially since I already have plenty of it. So tell me, what do we put on today?”

“Her,” I answer confidently and nod toward the girl.

Marat’s eyes go wide, and his eyebrows creep up with surprise.

“So she got you that bad?” His horrible laughter hits like a volley of shots inside my skull.

“None of your business. Agree or not?”
