Pyotr Zhgulyov is a popular science-fiction writer. His cycle of books “City of Goblins” is the most well-known both in Russia and abroad. We present in audio format one of the writer’s early literary projects—the series “The Guardian of the Pass,” whose first book is called “The Magus.”

The main hero Igor miraculously escapes death and gains a magical gift. But it’s impossible to use it on Earth, because there is no magical mana left here. To use his gift, the hero goes to one of the parallel worlds.

It turns out that the world where Igor ends up is far behind others in its development: magic is declining there, and people live surrounded by hostile tribes and all kinds of monsters. And in this world, the hero must go his own way toward a predetermined goal.
