Page Campbell—the leading specialist in studying the Breach, a mysterious gap into another world from which incomprehensible artifacts end up in our world—has just finished a secret audience with the President of the United States. And immediately her motorcade was hit by heavy gunfire from an unknown special group. Only Page herself survived. Before she was captured, she managed to call her colleague Bethany and warn her of the danger. Bethany immediately turned to the only person who knows what a Breach is and could save Page: the former police officer Travis Chase.
