Under the pseudonym Dem Mikhailov, Ruslan Alekseyevich Mikhailov (born November 23, 1979) publishes his works—a writer who works in the genre of fantasy. He is the author of several novel cycles and one of the founders of the LitRPG genre, based on the subculture of popular role-playing computer games. “Algora’s Sewage Waters” is another cycle set in the “Vаldyra World,” familiar to readers and listeners from the cult books of the series “The Clan Domination of the Sleepless” and the adventures of the dwarf Crow.

Mikhail, a newcomer in Valdira, decides to play as a character nicknamed Shmygovik, who makes a living by theft. But the game doesn’t go well right away. On the way to fame as an elusive hacker, the hero gets stuck—literally— in catacombs. There’s no way to get out. It would be logical to delete the recently created character and start the game over. But Mikhail makes a bet with his older sister that he’ll get to the surface despite the first level, the lack of equipment, and the lack of a map. And Mikhail’s sister is Kira the warrior—someone familiar to us from other Valdira books—an experienced player with a long track record. Not wanting to give in to the woman in the argument, setting as his goal to win the bet at any cost and prove to Kira that he’s no greenhorn, Mikhail gets lost in dark, terrifying underground tunnels teeming with unknown monsters, deadly traps, and other dangers.
