We are presented with a world where everything in the flow of life is watched by the System. It accounts for everything: people’s movements, their interests, preferences, tastes; about each person it knows, apparently, more than they know about themselves. And if the System decides that someone is a loser, there’s no doubt about it: that’s exactly what they are. But Terrel, the main character, absolutely disagrees with the role assigned to him and intends, by any means necessary, to change his status. He manages to reach the green zone. It seemed like a dream whose fulfillment would take many years—yet luck didn’t let him down: Terrel moved there very quickly, riding the wave of events beyond his control. One would think that he should enjoy the fruits of his luck, but soon the hero understands that things are not quite as they seemed, and what he had been striving for disappoints him more and more.
