When the gods take someone’s side, the winner will write his name into the heavenly tablets. The pagans stole the daughter from Meheye the Iron—and for that they will pay with their kingdom. Fifty thousand armed paladins follow their leader for a righteous cause. All of them are baptized in angel blood and thirst for the burning of the unbelievers. Only the janissaries can stand against the paladins.
The janissary turned living legend Keva once managed to do what an ordinary mortal can’t: he beheaded the mage under a hail of spells—but he lost his wife. Since then, he has withdrawn from the world, clouding his mind with potions and sweet-tongued poetry.
To save the kingdom, Keva must forget his grief and restore his former glory. Meheye the Iron’s paladins are already close—full of rage and determination to write their own legend, in blood.
