1951. The nineteen-year-old student Fyodor Zarubin travels to the Ukrainian town of Ovruch to bring back to Leningrad his lonely cousin—an ex–frontline intelligence officer who has lost his mind during secret post-war service. Fyodor brings his brother back, but, by a twist of circumstances, instead of Leningrad they end up in a terrible, mysterious area teeming with dreadful mutants, armed with zombies and lurking at every step behind trap-anomalies. But the worst of all isn’t even that. The real horror is that, as the strangely dressed girl Anna they meet insists, the calendar now says twenty-one years of the twenty-first century! And the automatic super-rifle of an unknown model that Anna is armed with is the best proof of that.
