Half a year has passed since the events described in the novel “Hide-and-Seek on the Axis.” The stalker Psyk ran into the Zone, and no one knows where he’s hiding. Biologist Ivan Sievertsov got stuck at a field research outpost for a long time. The businessman Pokatilov recovered from problems with the power structures and resumed searching for the duplicator—though it isn’t only him. Everyone searches in vain for Psyk, but then he unexpectedly turns up himself and agrees to voluntarily hand over the duplicator to the scientist-maker Taranenko. While Taranenko prepares the equipment to extract the duplicator from the hiding place, Psyk and Sievertsov hide in the Zone. Meanwhile, Pokatilov’s search team has already been sent after them, and the mysterious psi-monster is becoming more and more clearly aware of their presence and interest. Once again, races and hide-and-seek: who will outwit whom, who will get there first, and in the end who will take possession of the coveted prize… For the answers to all these questions, read Vladimir Vasiliev’s new novel “Children of the Duplicator.”
