For more than a century, people’s minds have been occupied with the thought of the coming end of the world. Even more than the exact date of the apocalypse, people worry about what it will mean for all living things. Threat from outer space? Global natural catastrophes? An ecological disaster? A technogenic one? Or will a merciless virus break free—against which medicine will be powerless? There may be many versions, and some of them are presented in this collection.

But the writers also ponder another question: what will happen next? What will be after that very Day X arrives? Will a person remain a person? What will happen to the surviving crumbs of the former rulers of Earth? And in general—will those “crumbs” exist anywhere at all?

From the performer:
When selecting stories for this anthology, I tried to cover as many possible scenarios for the end of the world as I could. I wanted to touch upon different types of problems that the heroes of the stories are forced to solve. And, of course, I tried to cover quite a broad period of literature written on the theme of Armageddon. Also, telling 25 stories about “how everything got bad” wouldn’t have been interesting for me either—hence the genre variety of the collection, from the deepest dramas to light humorous tales. And as the writer Zotov used to say: “Apocalypse, welcome!”
