The Straw Countess

Once upon a time there were two sisters—one clever, the other beautiful. Only the happy one was not the sister whom the Gods gave with a figure that drives men crazy and a beautiful face. “A chunk of attractive flesh,” as one of the pillars of the empire—the all-powerful general Gra Ferth—snidely called this lady when he decided to use the woman as bait for the newly-converted unclean.

And he didn’t notice how he himself swallowed the hook. After all, beauty is a terrible force!

The second book in the “Empire of Graal” cycle. The story begins in the novel “The Right of the Third Night.”
