Politicians failed to agree and used the “final argument of kings.” Only no one took into account that super-powerful “means of intimidation” are capable of destroying civilization. When the first warheads fell to Earth and columns of smoke started climbing to the sky, the familiar world suddenly collapsed. Life did not disappear from the planet. Many survived.
