The Empire's Dreamer

No, I didn’t get hit by a train and I wasn’t run over by a truck. They dragged me, against my will, into another world through a magical portal. But I’d rather have died than ended up in this new wonderful world. Here everything is different. The Russian Empire starts from Portugal and stretches all the way to Japan. It’s the most advanced country in the world—the country where, first and foremost, the technologies of Nikola Tesla are valued. Having survived several wars, the empire took over all of Europe, pushed America and other “not-so-countries” back to the level of the Middle Ages. The only magic available to locals is magic of dreams. Good thing I’m a real guru and a sorcerer-witchman in that.

So problems shouldn’t arise. But what is it that I want? To become a count and serve in the secret chancellery for the rest of my days? Or to conquer this world and find a way back home? And everything would be fine—except that besides new friends, I’ve also got new enemies. But that’s not what bothers me. What’s unsettling is that the Emperor himself suddenly sent me… my own underwear!
