A special forces captain of the GRU, Victor Egorov, who accidentally ended up in the past, continues his personal war against the Germans and their hangers-on in the occupied territories. Surviving his first, most terrible winter of war, his unit prepares for new battles—now the avengers have load-bearing vests, silencers for every type of weapon, and mines of several kinds.
A new raid against the occupiers begins in early spring 1942 with a complete sweep of the area of policemen, and will end only in early autumn with a grand action to destroy the Riga punitive battalion, which in our reality was reorganized into the Latvian SS Legion.
The execution of the punitive troops is organized demonstratively—cruelly. Egorov wants the Nazis to be afraid. VERY afraid! So that any German, from soldier to general, knows that they ALL are facing an inevitable, agonizing death.
