As you know, history has a way of repeating itself—in different circumstances and with different characters. Here we meet again a witch from the line of the fate-magic magicians and a dragon, and once again they face investigations of crimes committed with magic. Only this time it’s not Flossia Naren, but her daughter Fergia; not Garresh the dragon, but his nephew Veirish; and the story takes place not in Arastene, but in the scorching Admar, where the very climate doesn’t favor rushing and decisive actions. But the shadow of a curse deadly to dragons has already fallen upon the burning sands—meaning Veirish will have to shake off his languor and laziness to try to avert disaster for his tribe, while Fergia will have to fight for her place under the hot sun to prove that women can cast spells and think logically no worse than men.
