Alexander Eremeev was an ordinary middle-aged man from Moscow, but death gave him a chance to become someone else… in another reality. Now he is a young boyar named Danila, living in a fairy-tale world full of magical beings. And he’s a mage, too!
Having gathered a strong and loyal retinue, Danila repeatedly repels raids by numerous enemies, defending his native land and its people. Even if victory follows victory and the glory of an altar mage grows, problems only multiply. His hot-tempered nature plays a cruel joke on him: he manages to quarrel with those he shouldn’t. And to make it worse, a vengeful forest spirit decides to settle the score with Danila! And all of this happens right when a huge enemy army has drawn up to the boyar’s lands and is about to seize them…
