A company of boys and girls heads out of town to spend the night in nature with loud music and jumping over a bonfire. While gathering fuel for the fire, they find a scarecrow. The terrible straw doll is burned in the flames, and then a series of horrifying events begins: one of the girls doesn’t make it to morning, and suspicion for the murder falls on the boy who is sure he didn’t kill her. Trying to avoid responsibility for a crime he didn’t commit, he runs away and, by sheer chance, ends up in the magical salon “Mysterium.” Telling the salon’s staff his story, he realizes that the burned scarecrow interests them far more than the girl he killed—yet he can’t find out why. Circumstances force him to keep fleeing and lead him to the Squirrel Island—a park of rest and entertainment in the very center of a big city. He hopes to find refuge there, not knowing that the real killer also has plans for this island.
