The Heart Is Free

So our daughter’s heart is now beating in her sister’s chest?
I breathe out these words with total disbelief that the world around me is not my illusion.
Two years ago, my husband and I lost our only child—she died in a car accident. And I knew that her heart had been taken for organ donation. I was even glad that it was continuing to live.
