For as long as anyone can remember, the Murașek family has kept everyone who dares to approach the Peak of Horror in fear. In this ancient line, there is an unbreakable tradition: every child at ten years old undergoes a ritual of “monsterhood” and forever takes on a new form.

When it is Mirtilla’s turn, her relatives fall silent, bracing themselves: what will she become? A werewolf, like her brother Otis? A mummy, like her cousin Scarabey? A witch, like her grandmother Tsikuta? But then the unimaginable happens… the heir turns out to have nothing monstrous at all! No fangs. No claws. No magic.

However, Mirtilla has no intention of accepting the role of the most ordinary girl, and she begins her own investigation in the gloomy corridors of the family castle. Among squeaky staircases, secret passages, unexpected traps, and suspicious relatives, she tries to uncover the truth and find answers to her questions:
