History student Viktor Timofeyev is one of those people commonly called a “folk genius.” Living in the friendly realities of the 1960s, in his naïveté he doesn’t know the word “impossible.” For his friends and for the girl he loves, Sveta, he is capable of assembling an eternal engine from scraps at hand, overcoming the forces of universal gravitation, and breaking the fundamental laws of physics. But since he is unquestionably a good person, the troubles and mishaps that arise turn out—quite to everyone’s delight—to multiply good in nature and society.
