Order and law… belong to another reality. When being sent into exile from well-fed Moscow, senior detective Oganesov believed the worst he would face in a provincial police department would be bootleg vodka and unbearable boredom.
In reality, when he drove out to handle a domestic murder, the investigator “arrived” in another world. One where a local police officer with “witnesses” can eat the corpse of a crime victim, and where a general father and the sacred “red cover” (badge) can’t provide either protection or an advantage.
Can a big-city hotshot survive and find his place in a world that looks more like a nightmarish dream? He’ll have to try. But first, he needs to believe that all this isn’t a game of a sick imagination.
