Almost two years have passed since the end of two short, victorious wars. Completely different problems have come to the forefront—issues connected with the country’s former backwardness, moods in society, and the increased activity of the left wing of the III and IV Internationals. Ambitions and all those “victories at any cost” attitudes were plenty even in postwar society itself. But ahead there was a serious clash with the two most powerful economies in the world—economies that, without a fight, will give nothing away.
