This story, like many others, begins in modern Moscow. Hardly could the young literary critic Anton Lisitsyn, after chatting about life with a stranger of Asian appearance and drinking a cup of Chinese tea, have imagined that ancient magic would instantly transport him to fairy-tale China of the 16th century… Where in the Middle Kingdom the Jade Emperor still rules with an iron hand, and along unknown roads wander demons, imps, foxes, witches, and evil spirits.
And now Anton is the hero of the famous epic “Journey to the West.” From now on he is called Li-Sitsyn, he has a horse/dragon, and his friends are Sun Wukong, aka the Monkey King, Zhu Bajie – a pig with a rake, and Sha Seng – a former general of the heavenly army with a grave shovel. The goal is the same as in the original work: to bring the sacred Buddhist scrolls to China. Only no one is going to hand them over… But a literary critic from Moscow is not used to giving up! Especially if on his shoulder he has a gift from the king of demons – a Kalashnikov assault rifle with a full load of ammunition! Any suicides? Get in line!
