… Nikolai Nikolaevich Krotov—an especially dangerous repeat offender, a murderer, a traitor, a provocateur. He served in the ranks of the Soviet Army, and right after the war began he defected to the side of the German fascist invaders. Recruited by the Abwehr, then turned by the SD, he took part in sabotage groups of the Vlasov Army. Because of Krotov, many Soviet soldiers and officers were killed. Strong, cunning, calculating, experienced. Known as Egor Kotov, Grigory Milinko, Mikhail Minchakov, and others. Before the war, Nikolai Krotov suffered from stuttering, but in Germany he was sent for forced treatment with electric current, and the ailment was cured.

Colonel Kostenko managed to expose Nikolai Krotov. In 1978, Krotov was arrested, and soon sentenced to the highest penalty and shot.
