A deserter from the Corpus Servus can only count on a long, agonizing death. That’s what they say. But not everything people say comes true. And Kim Drem, a greenhorn operator of an intelligence module, is proof. He managed to escape the Corpus and doesn’t have to fear its wrath. Six entire centuries separate him from any possible hunters, but after getting free from the Corpus’s heavy hand, dreaming of freedom and flights through the Void, Kim turned out unbelievably far from fulfilling his dream.

The planet where this ormd deserter ended up is covered in scars from a war that raged twenty years ago, forgotten and abandoned.
