Progressors: Infiltration Operation

Five young people with unusual talents undergo special training and are sent to a far-off planet to help humanity pave the way to the stars—even if it takes entire epochs.

In the early 23rd century, Earth has already become part of the Galactic Community and has been granted the right to assist in the development of several promising Homo sapiens civilizations. The task proved neither easy nor familiar: at that time, neither on Earth nor in its colonies did a profession called a progredor (progressor) yet exist. Everything had to be created anew—from finding suitable people and training them to implementation, and only then to the actual work.

This is a long undertaking: before a civilization reaches the level at which it can be accepted into the Galactic Community, many generations will have already replaced one another on its home planet. However, first it must be brought cautiously onto the right path. This is what the five young Earthlings—who have undergone special training and been endowed with unique abilities—are set to do.
