“The Ghost of Adora” is the second book written by master Tom Sherwood Locke from Bristol. A book about a sense of duty and self-sacrifice. It tells the story of a man who, having landed in a society with neither police nor laws, rises up against local rules and shows remarkable abilities.
In pursuit of the kidnappers of two twin boys—his old friend’s children—Tom ends up in a small empire of Madagascar pirates. Here terrifying events catch up with him: slavery, the deaths of several close friends, and a meeting with a overseer-eating cannibal. At the cost of incredible tricks, cunning, and reckless bravery, Tom saves the ship and the crew. After finding and buying back one twin, Tom, searching for the second, ends up in the palace of the Abbasids in Baghdad—as a captive-guest. Ancient books and his friends’ cleverness help them find a long-forgotten secret passage out of the palace.
Tom returns to Bristol, and on the deck of his ship the rescued twins stand, while in the hold several chests from an old pirate treasure are resting—filled with gold and weapons.
