I was supposed to wake up in my redwood bed. And the day was supposed to begin as always: with screams, moans, pleas for mercy, and a metallic scent of blood… not the smell of excrement.

I can feel shortness of breath; my hands can barely move; my heart is tearing apart from a thin chest. I’m sitting on the toilet with my pants down… and am I sobbing?

Bang!

The door of the toilet stall nearly comes off its hinges.

“Auu—oo—oo—oo… Are you in there? We came for youuuu…”
