He’s lying; he’ll eat you anyway.
As always in Moore’s books, don’t expect that everyone speaks only in literary language, though compared to the Vampire Saga, here they’re practically good boys. Only the demon’s teeth (and in similar situations) curse. There’s also sex. And when was it ever not? This is Moore—so it’ll be there, of course, and in the most inconvenient circumstances, naturally!
