The beginning of the 20th century. Quiet Ensk on the Volga. In the close-knit family of attorney Konstantin Rusanov, it turns out that not everything is as nice and calm as it seems. Soon a secret will be revealed that a respectable gentleman has been carefully hiding: his runaway wife is alive, not dead—as he has insisted all his life to his children and to society. What’s more, his wife’s sister has come to town—once she, too, fell in love with the handsome Konstantin.
The mistress demands that they immediately get married—but Rusanov can’t do it… Yes, passions are boiling. And on the doorstep is August 1914. Soon life will explode, and the fates of people will intertwine in the fiery whirlwinds of the First World War. So many events are still ahead… Yet we, living in the twenty-first century, know about them—while our great-grandmothers and great-grandfathers, the heroes of the “Russian Family Saga,” have no idea at all.
