Yet another unusual maniac is active in Moscow—this time obsessed with the paintings of the great French artist Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres. In the city, girls who come from the provinces to conquer the capital disappear. They are found a month later, and on the dead, naked bodies they discover sheets with sketches signed by Ingres. It’s hard to believe, but the sketches turn out to be genuine—and the case draws international attention.
