Even though Trowenland can’t compete in size with Getland or Vanster, the key to the prosperity of this kingdom was the fortress of Bayle’s Point—the gate to the Sea of Shards. Both Jarvi’s father and, even more importantly, the Pramother Vexen know this very well. It is precisely thanks to the treachery of the latter that Trowenland is ruined by invaders: its king and his servant are killed in their own palace, and Princess Skara is forced to flee her home disguised as a miserable slave.
Just like once Jarvi’s life, Skara’s life changed radically in a single day. Yesterday she was a pampered princess, and today she will have to become a queen-warrior. And she will have to learn how to deal with politics, because swords are only half the battle—the other half is behind-the-scenes intrigues.
