Real-life guy Tolik got what he wanted: he ended up in the Zone, passed the “registration” with Gena Torts’ brigade, and counted on a sweet life. And why not? You just have to know how to rob stalkers, gather artifacts, and beat mutants. But things in the brigade were going poorly. And then the Koreets, who had settled at the Swale, managed—finally—to unite lone stalkers and push back the bandits. During the height of the battle, the military interfered, so neither the honest guys nor the looters got off easy.
In the end, though, Tolik found a fine cache for the brigade—a deserted secret laboratory. The scientists there are gone, but the results of their experiments remain—and no one in Torts’ gang can even imagine what they’re going to face in the near future… And once again, the stalker Blind couldn’t manage to disengage: Goshа Kary, owner of the inn “Star,” needed help. Kary asks Blind, one last time, to go into the Zone and stash a package there for better times—a packet of compromising material on one important man in uniform. But the important man isn’t asleep either—there’s already a hunt for Blind…
