Granny's Setup. A Guide to Solving Your Own Murder

Welcome back to Castle Noll—an idyllic English village where, suspiciously, far too many people know how to kill.

Good old England, 1967. After a dark prophecy by the fortune-teller Peony Lane of an imminent death, eighteen-year-old Frances Adams resolves—at any cost—to break what’s been foretold. But while she tries to make sense of her fate, another case surfaces in Castle Noll: the death of the Ford family from Gravesdown. The police consider it a car crash accident, however Frances’s friends doubt this—and she herself is quietly drawn into an investigation into the dark secrets of Gravesdown Hall.

Present day. Annie Adams enjoys a peaceful life at the estate inherited from her cousin-grandmother, Frances, until Peony Lane appears on her doorstep again. The fortune-teller demands that Annie look into the death of the Gravesdouns. And only a few hours later, Annie finds Peony dead in her own conservatory. But it can’t be: the house was locked, and the knife sticking out of the woman’s back is something Annie was holding in her hands literally five minutes ago.

In Castle Noll, yet another round of the detective game begins—and the legendary Frances archive of evidence, scandal, and kompromat will soon throw in surprises no one expected.

"How lovely it was to return to Castle Noll with its charming yet deadly dangerous heroes from Kristen Perrin in ‘Grandma’s Set-Up’. This time, we step into the wild 1960s, where Annie’s cousin-grandmother, Frances, turns out to be just as stubborn a detective as Annie herself. A magnificent continuation of a bright debut!" – Jessica Bull, author of the historical murder mystery Jane Austen Investigates Murder
"Kristen Perrin did it again—she’s given us another wonderful Castle Noll detective novel, where they investigate the death of the fortune-teller Peony Lane. "A brilliant follow-up that confirms: Kristen Perrin is a star for the long haul. Great to see the heroes from ‘Grandma’s Dangerous Game’ again—especially the infamously notorious Peony Lane, who makes a new prediction—and once again it leads to bloody, unexpected consequences. ‘Grandma’s Set-Up’ is an engrossing story with a final twist, even though the clues are always right there in front of your eyes!" – G.
