An investigator from the prosecutor’s office shows his longtime friend—a writer—a diary of the recently deceased Nikita Vorontsov. An extremely interesting diary, as it turns out from reading it: the dead man lived many lives of the same person.
Entries in the diary notebook are about how painfully it is each time to live knowing that something may happen—or may not; knowing about a future death or war, and so on, and so on.
