A novel about submariners in the genre of alternate history, but without a “transmigrator,” because our ancestors, given favorable circumstances, could have achieved far more themselves. In reality, a Russian submarine for the first time in history carried out a practical launch of combat missiles from an underwater position—though it’s hard to believe… in the early 1830s!
During the Civil War in the United States, for the first time a surface warship was destroyed by an attack from a submarine. The same period also includes the first experiments with hybrid engines—thermal for surface travel and electric for underwater travel. If, back then in the mid-19th century, Russian designers had received sufficient funding to build combat submarines and applied resources correctly, our subs would have significantly changed the course of all subsequent wars—and the developed technologies would have pushed technical progress, bringing Russia to global leadership by a wide margin.
And now, “stand by for immersion”… It won’t be easy, and it won’t be boring either.
The first novel of the trilogy “Our Weapon.”
